vivo has officially announced the Vision Explorer Edition, its mixed reality headset that has been on the agenda for a while. The headset, which will compete with the Apple Vision Pro, boasts remarkable features. So, what is its price?

The Chinese technology giant vivo has officially unveiled its long-anticipated competitor to the Apple Vision Pro. Named the “Vision Explorer Edition,” the headset offers impressive features and looks poised to captivate consumers. So, what does the vivo Vision Explorer Edition offer? And what is the price of this headset?

Perhaps the most striking feature of vivo’s mixed reality headset is its ultra-lightweight design. Weighing only 398 grams, the headset is much more user-friendly compared to the Apple Vision Pro, which weighs more than 600 grams. With a height of 83 millimeters and a thickness of 40 millimeters, the vivo Vision Explorer Edition also seems set to surpass the Apple Vision Pro with its compact structure.

Introducing the vivo Vision Explorer Edition, it comes equipped with two micro-LED technology displays. Each of these screens offers a resolution of 3840 x 3552 pixels, and the combined mixed resolution presented to the user reaches 8K. Supporting 94 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut, the headset has been specially calibrated for consistent color and brightness. Furthermore, the vivo Vision Explorer Edition will also be usable with prescription glasses.

According to the announcement by vivo, the Vision Explorer Edition is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2+ processor. Promising very high performance, the headset already hosts some exclusive applications. Continuing its collaborations in this field, vivo aims to build an extensive ecosystem. The vivo Vision Explorer Edition also appears set to draw attention with its precision. The mixed reality headset will be able to track your eye movements with an accuracy of 1.5 degrees. The device, which can track your hand movements within a 175-degree range, will thereby enable the most natural experience possible with opened applications.

The price vivo is asking for its Apple Vision Pro competitor mixed reality headset will be around $1,395. The price of the Apple Vision Pro, by comparison, was $3,499. According to the announcement, the Vision Explorer Edition will initially be placed in some stores in China. It is currently unknown whether vivo, which will first focus on convincing consumers, will launch its mixed reality headset in global markets.
